Paris

I schlepped to turn my car in at CDG this morning then came into Paris and immediately went to the Louvre. Yes, it is not to be missed but set your expectations. Many, many people, and again, like my Versailles experience, not all of them are accustomed to being cognizant of others but that is a cultural thing.
I tired pretty quickly but did see some good stuff. I didn't include Venus de Milo because there were so many people taking duckface selfies with poor Venus in the background. What is that about? Me me me me me....
So, some pretty pottery (they were labeled Faience but were from Spain!), a lovely GIANT tapestry where he is literally giving his heart to his lady, a kid on a tortoise, a hunter at rest...
The church is of course Notre Dame and the duck was sitting on the wall on the Seine and he quacked at every person who passed.
The 'Cite' sign is the iconic Art Deco subway (Metro) signage for the station on Ile de la Cite.
The Eiffel Tower shot...it's not that far away from ND and I'm sorry but don't know the name of the domed building or church in that photo.

Following those are some shots of 3 of the Lady and the Unicorn tapestries in the museum of the middle ages (Cluny Museum).  Google her!

More shots of iconic Parisian sights, then the vineyard!  Right in the middle of Montmartre.  Owned by the city of Paris and it produces grapes that make 1700 bottles of wine a year!

The next shots are of the Petit Palais museum.  Very lovely building and nice collection and free!

The Alexander III bridge is so widely seen.  I was watching a movie on the plane  and there it was!

The last ones are of the Pantheon.  Very impressive building: first it was a church, then not, then it was, then not.  Now state-owned and just gorgeous.
