Hunawihr and Kayserberg

Near Colmar, the village of Hunawihr.  A lovely little town surrounded by vineyards and populated with wineries.

Kayserberg is a small wine producing town (they ALL are!) that is quite charming and yes, touristy, but with nice shops and restaurants,   Notice cheese boy.  Also find the kitty in the store window!    Kayserberg was in Germany from the Prussian War to WWI, but French since then.  There is an old chateau on top of a mountain, hence the name 'Emperor's Mountain,'

Kaysersberg is one of the finest wine growing areas in Alsace. The first vines were brought here in the 16th century from Hungary, and wine production is still an important aspect of the town's economy today. Wine produced from the pinot gris variety is a local specialty.
