First some shots of the older stained glass, some from the 13th century.
And now the three windows by Marc Chagall. Because of the angles, I had to show just detail on one of them instead of the entire window. They rival the Chagall windows in Reims.
Day Two in Metz: A lovely church in Sillegny that has frescoes from the 15th and 16th centuries. Some are really graphic. My favorite is the guys the bellows fanning the flames of hell in the monster's mouth! And it looks like one guy is on a spit and they're pouring molten whatever on him!
Back to Metz, a lovely 'temple' (Protestant church) on a small island in the Moselle River, right in the city center. Very cute Muslim couple having their wedding photos taken. I don't think they were married there but it is a lovely venue.
'Amazing pictures today from the intricate beauty of the stained glass (beyond my wildest dreams of stained glass) to the gliding beauty of a swan to the simple yet elegant couture of a stunning French bride. Well done.
